Getting Your Braces Off Early | Photoshopping Braces Part 2

In my previous post I showed an example I did a while back where I removed a young man’s braces using Adobe Photoshop. Recently I photographed a young lady who was interested in having her braces removed early as well. Her braces were tooth-colored, which takes slightly less time to edit than the all-metal ones.

Since we’re on the subject of Photoshop, I’m including the last 2 images, which is from a construction photography project I did where they needed the cars removed from the front of the building so that they could showcase the structure on their website. When performing post-editing tasks such as these, I charge an hourly rate and keep record of exactly how much time I spend retouching the images. It’s amazing what can be done with the right software!

Exposure Movement | 3-Day Workshop for Pre-Professional Dancers

I designed a flier and poster for my close friend’s artist development company, Exposure Movement, for a 3-day workshop they are holding later this month. I wish something like this was around when I was still dancing. Participants are getting a behind-the-scenes look at professional dance productions with private Q&A sessions with the performers. They get to train with some of the best dancers in the world. They get makeovers AND HEADSHOTS (this alone usually costs more than the entire workshop price). Personal consultation and training on all facets of industry. Plus transportation to all of it!

If a professional dance career is in your horizon, I highly recommend this workshop.

The Sayavongsa Family Portraits

Diana wanted to do photos outside in a park, so I suggested The Grove in Glenview since it was not too far from their home. There were plenty of beautiful spots to snap photos, and we even encountered local wildlife…well, a rooster.

I was thrilled to find out it was actually Diana and Chant’s anniversary too, which made the day extra special.

It was easy to get CJ to smile just by mentioning a certain girl’s name.

Their energy was so contagious!

Dorrell, Crystal, and Rueben | Family Portraits

I really enjoy photographing families in their home because their comfort and personalities really shine through with the setting. Plus we can be sure that all the kids’ favorite toys are there.

Dorrell is the cutest little guy, which is just natural with beautiful parents like Crystal and Rueben.

Happy Mother’s Day! | Guillen Family Portraits

Hope everyone had a wonderful mother’s day! I spent the day barbecuing with my family, watching my nephew run as fast as his little legs would take him, and catching up with my niece’s travels (she’s more of a world traveler than I am and she’s only 4). My moms and sisters are all strong, beautiful women and such inspirational mamas. I love them very much and look forward to following in their footsteps one day.

Here is another strong, beautiful mama and her family. They kindly made the trip to my in-home studio, and my dog (and the movie Monsters) helped keep the kiddies entertained. Since their maternity/family portrait, they’ve welcomed their newest addition to the clan, Miles.

Congratulations to the Guillen Family! Hope to see you again soon!

Dana and Jason Engagement Session

Dana and Jason decided to have their session at Gomper’s Park, a beautiful park on the north side of Chicago. We got some great shots with the bridges and pond adding to the scene. Dana and Jason’s playful personalities were so fun to capture on camera…Jason throwing her over his shoulder, Dana biting his face…I always appreciate a good playfight.

They wanted to take family portraits as well, so later on in the shoot their two westies joined us.
